Lauras sketch #15

Well I lied! last week I said no more christmas cards ... well you know when you think you have everyone covered when it comes to christmas cards but there is always someone you missed or forgot? ... well it happened to me so I had to make another one!!!! it is not like I could go out and buy a card ... as everyone knows I don't buy cards so it would look very suspect if I did go out and buy one! ... I might try it one day just to see a reaction!!!

Well this is my take on yet another fab sketch from 2sketches4u. I have used Pixie Press and Sei paper, Kaiser wooden snow flake, SU and versamark ink, SU ribbon, Francheville charms and Making Memories brad. I love the maroon and green colours although not quite the traditional christmas colours ... but I am not traditional like that!!!

I would just like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Safe and Happy New Year, this is my last card until after the New Year as I will be with my family in New Zealand. They don't have the internet where I am staying so I won't be able to see the sketches or participate but when I come back I will be well rested and raring to go again!!!

Take care everyone and happy cardmaking!

MUMS 70th BIRTHDAY PRESSIE!!!

I just had to share this ... so on Boxing Day my lovely mother turns 70 years old!!! I didn't quite know what to make her as she really didn't want a fuss made on the actual day ... so I absolutely adore the "What a Hoot" paper from Kaiser and just had to use it on this Kaiser house album. I have left cardboard matts for us to place photos in from the special day. So there is no excuse for the family to runaway from the camera!
Thanks for looking

Kazans sketch #15

I think this is my last christmas card for this season!!!! And for some strange reason I decided to have a go at a slider card (a little difficult to tell).

Anyway Kazans sketch from 2sketches4U was an excellent sketch to do a card with a mechanical component and I love a challenge like that. I used the countdown to christmas paper from Kaiser and made an advent calendar (so it can be reused next year!!!). The little arrow pointing to the number 13 actually slides along and down through the numbers, the middle part (days 'til christmas) is slightly raised so the arrow (mounted on 2 acetate circles and a brad) can slide along.

Well I love the idea of being able to move parts on the card around with the aid of a groove cut out from the cardboard and 2 pieces of acetate placed front and back of the groove so an object can slide freely. You should give it a go ... its fun to make!

Anyway thanks for looking.

Lauras sketch #14

Here is my version of this weeks sketch from the fabulous 2sketches4u. I have turned it backwards 90 degrees. I have used Cosmo Cricket papers and diecuts and the owl is a Prima stamp. Which I have coloured in with water colour pencils and an aqua brush. The tag at the top can be pulled up and out.
Thanks for looking everyone!

Kris Kringle Album

Well here are some of the photos of a kris kringle gift that I have made. I have used papers and embellishments from the Kaiser Everblooming range.

This year our kris kringle theme for work is 'handmade' (and it wasn't even my idea!!!) so I made this album for the person I got. I have made it so it is not themed and can be used for male, female, couples and even child(ren), and she can just add photos to it. But now after looking at it ... guess what ... I don't want to give it away (isn't that always the case!!!). Neil says that I made it specifically for kris kringle and so I SHOULD give it and I can always make another one ... my reply to him is ... does that mean I can go shopping for the supplies!!!!
