A mothers day card

I had an idea this week to do a pop up card - now I have never done one of these before so I thought I would do just a basic one - not too complicated! When I had decided to do this card my in-laws rang up to say they were passing through Melbourne for a visit so I was out of action for 2 days at least but I did manage to make it this afternoon and I am absolutely over the moon about it and I am sure my mother in law is going to love it!

I have made it following the sketch from Card Patterns #108 (I flip it back 90 degrees). The flower colours on the card is inspired by the photo from Paper Sundaes, the purpose of the card is from Cupcake Craft #135 challenge - flowers for Mum, and the general overall feel is inspired from the challenge over at Kaboodle Doodle - a spring thing! Which is ironic down here in the Souther hemisphere we are in Autumn and soon approaching cold weather - hey cold by our standards not like the northern hemipshere which has snow as a general rule for their winter!!!

Anyway thanks for looking - I have just had 4 sets of cards accepted for Australian cardmaking, stamping and papercraft magazine which means 4 sets of instructions! so I think I will have to start on them now rather than make cards! have a great week.

On Your Bike

I was riding along the bike path yesterday with my little dog in behind in the trailer and the usual comments we get from passer bys is 'oh how cute' and then I had an idea that I would dig around in my stamp stash (which is enormous!) and see if I can't make the cute image of a dog being towed behind a bike! and here is the result.

You could say that my little dog (Kouta) is very happy with the card!
I have made this card for the following challenges:
Cupcake Craft challenges - use a monochromatic colour scheme
Wee Memories #48 - cute &/or cuddly theme
the bike and trailer stamps are from Practising Creativity cycle stamp set and paper from Jillibean Soup.
Thanks for looking.

It's Your Day

Here is a birthday card for my 'emergency stack'. Sort of struggled with this card a bit mainly the paper piercing as I have never done anything like that before! but I liked its' effect.

I have made this card for the following challenges:
Sweet Stop Sketches - sketch #100 - fabulous sketch
Totally Stampalicious - paper piercing - something I haven't done before! and if you can't see it - it is on the left side of the card running down the spine of the card!
Kaboodle Doodles - use the colours of yellow, pink, blue and green
I have used Inky Antics mousie stamps, Shrink it for my embellishments and Pink Paislee papers.
Thanks for looking.

Thinking of You

Here is a card I made for my Mum - her mother (my grandmother) passed away late last week and I decided that since I can't be there with her that I would make her this card to say that I am thinking of her today at the memorial the family had for my grandmother.

here is a close up

I have made this card for the following challenges:
Card Patterns #107 - sketch
Annabelle Stamps Blog - say it with a tag (the title 'thinking of you' is a tag I made with shrink it)
Paper Sundaes #61 - embossing - the chipboard birdie and center pink paper has been wet embossed with a back ground stamp from Autumn Leaves and clear embossed.
I have used papers from Paper Inklings Family collection, the chipboard is also from Paper Inklings.
Thanks for looking.

Birthday wishes

I have been busy topping up my emergency stack of cards and I have made this birthday card - I am trying to make cards that are suited for both male and female and I think rather than try to make a card that could be either / or I really should just either make a male card or a female card. Actually I think I might challenge myself to make more male cards - I struggle with those and always end up slipping in a flower or bow somewhere!
Anyway here is a close up of the card -

and here is a full view of the card

I have made this card for the following blogs - thanks for the inspiration from these wonderful blogs:
Cardabilities sketch 27
Kaboodle Doodle - challenge #58 make a birthday card
Simon Says - birthday card
Cupcake Craft - challenge #133 up in the air with optional green
I have used Cosmo Cricket papers from the Pixie Licious collection, the hot air balloon stamp is from Verve Up Up & Away.
Thanks for looking!

What you think...

I have made the card below just for the sake of making a card! I wanted to do a card that was nice and simple. I used the sketch from Card Positioning Systems and followed the easy challenge from Paper Sundaes which was to keep it simple.

I love the colour scheme of purple, green and white and really enjoyed the simple layout of the sketch . I have used Cosmo Cricket Pixie Licious papers, not sure where the quote stamp came from, Kaiser flower and pearls and I have used Spellbinders labels 4 dies.

Thanks card

Here is a quick thankyou card I made for our neighbour who kindly collected our mail while we were away cycling.

I have made the card following sketch 035 from Annabelle Stamps Blog and have used the colours from the challenge over at Lollipop Ladies where you draw inspiration from a candy necklace and must used circles.
Thanks for looking.

Challenge card - just for you

I could not have ridden back faster from our cycle holiday with the knowledge that my craft room is not being used! I pedalled and pedalled and I am so happy to be back in my room. Actually I am glad to be back home and look forward to the next 5 months (even though it is winter) off from our cycling.
Off course I was a bit rusty when it came to my first card in 6 weeks but I am happy with the results.

I have made this card for the following blog challenges:
Jay Gees Nook #5 - colours of light blue, white and yellow
Scrapbook Boutique - use at least 3 buttons
Card Patterns - sketch 106
I made the white flowers out of pipe cleaners but just wrapping it around a pen and used buttons as the flower centers, the paper is from Kaiser, the sun is from Hero Arts bee happy stamp set, the clouds are from Verve Up, Up & Away stamp set.
